Course Objective & Scope

With its global VPC networking, serverless containers in Cloud Run and petabyte-scale analytics in BigQuery, Google Cloud offers a distinctive architecture. This course builds the foundational skills needed to deploy and manage application, container and data workloads on GCP.

The Organization/Folder/Project hierarchy, IAM and Service Account security, global VPCs and firewall rules, Compute Engine, Cloud Run and GKE Autopilot, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL and BigQuery, plus Cloud Monitoring and Logging are covered hands-on. Participants design a GCP project and service architecture for a sample scenario.

Who Should Attend?

  • Engineers and developers building application and data workloads on Google Cloud
  • System, DevOps and infrastructure specialists operating multi-cloud environments
  • Teams preparing for Cloud Digital Leader or Associate Cloud Engineer tracks
  • Prerequisite: basic familiarity with IT, networking and application concepts

Key Takeaways

  • Structure Organizations, Folders, Projects and least-privilege IAM/Service Account permissions
  • Configure GCP's global VPC model, Shared VPC, Cloud NAT and Cloud Load Balancing
  • Choose appropriately between Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run and Cloud Run Functions
  • Match Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, Firestore and BigQuery to operational and analytical needs
  • Manage operations and spend with Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, budget alerts and CUDs
