Course Objective & Scope

Projects usually go off track because of unclear scope, unrealistic timelines and fuzzy accountability. This programme builds the shared language and core tools of project management from the ground up: project charter, scope statement, work breakdown structure (WBS), Gantt chart and critical path, cost estimation, RACI matrix and status reporting.

Participants work on a project case selected from their own organisation and leave with a reusable project plan template consisting of a charter, WBS, schedule and checklist.

Who Should Attend?

  • Newly appointed or prospective project managers and project coordinators
  • Business and technical team members who work on projects
  • Department managers moving to project-based work
  • No prerequisites; suitable for those without project experience

Key Takeaways

  • Clarify project purpose, scope and success criteria in a project charter
  • Break work into manageable packages with a WBS and identify dependencies
  • Build a realistic schedule by finding the critical path on a Gantt chart
  • Assign roles and responsibilities with a RACI matrix
  • Prepare a simple risk and action log and a weekly status report
