Course Objective & Scope
In organisations running SharePoint Server for intranets, document management and approval flows, legacy server-side (Full Trust) solutions make upgrades painful. This course teaches modern extensibility approaches compatible with both on-premises SharePoint Server (2019 / Subscription Edition) and hybrid/Online environments.
It covers SharePoint information architecture (site collections, content types, lists/libraries), building TypeScript/React web parts and extensions with SharePoint Framework (SPFx), using the SharePoint REST API, CSOM and PnPjs, the permissions model, search customisation and integrating with external backend services. Participants build a deployable SPFx solution matched to an internal use case.
Who Should Attend?
- SharePoint and .NET/web developers building enterprise intranet and document management solutions
- Teams migrating legacy Farm/Sandbox solutions to SPFx and API-based models
- Software specialists responsible for internal portal and workflow integrations
- Prerequisite: basic C# or TypeScript/JavaScript and web development knowledge
Key Takeaways
- Design a sound data model for content types, site columns and high-volume lists
- Build modern web parts and extensions with SPFx and React
- Read and write data securely using the SharePoint REST API, CSOM and PnPjs
- Apply indexing and query rules to stay within the list view threshold on large lists
- Standardise solution packaging (.sppkg), App Catalog deployment and ALM processes
