Course Objective & Scope
As AI evolves from passive chat interfaces into autonomous agents that research, draft and trigger actions across enterprise systems, the manager's job fundamentally changes. Leaders must now orchestrate hybrid teams composed of human specialists and digital agents working side by side.
This course shows managers how to structure human–agent work division, onboard and monitor agents with clear role cards and boundaries, and adapt daily team rituals. Participants leave with a tailored Human–Agent Operating Charter for their own team.
Who Should Attend?
- Department heads, functional managers and operations leaders
- Team leads in customer service, sales, finance, HR, software and marketing
- Process owners and product managers deploying agentic workflows
- HR and leadership development managers preparing leaders for hybrid operations
Key Takeaways
- Partition team workloads across human judgment, human–agent collaboration and autonomous agent execution
- Create an Agent Role Card defining scope, system permissions, guardrails and SLA metrics for each digital worker
- Adapt stand-ups, queue reviews and retrospectives to track agent throughput and exception queues
- Calibrate team trust to prevent both blind over-reliance and algorithm aversion
- Produce a practical Human–Agent Operating Charter and handoff protocol for the team
Curriculum
From Chat Copilot to Digital Teammate: The Hybrid Team Paradigm
- Managerial difference between an individual copilot and a goal-driven, tool-using agent
- Reframing team capacity as combined human judgment plus agent throughput
- The manager's shift from task dispatcher to workflow and exception orchestrator
Agent Onboarding: Digital Worker Role Cards and Boundaries
- Defining each agent's mandate, input/output schema, permitted tools/APIs and data access scope
- Autonomy tiers: Advisor (L1), Approve-to-Execute (L2), Act-and-Notify (L3), Fully Autonomous (L4)
- Setting hard red lines on actions an agent may never execute alone
Human–Agent Handoffs and Daily Management Rituals
- Warm handoffs: passing rich context cleanly between agents and human specialists
- Managing exception queues and rebalancing human review capacity
- Running weekly hybrid retrospectives: reviewing agent failure patterns and updating prompts/rules
Team Psychology and Trust Calibration
- Balancing algorithm aversion ("I'll just do it myself") against automation complacency (rubber-stamping)
- Positioning staff as agent supervisors and domain problem-solvers rather than cleanup crew
- Building blameless feedback loops when agent workflows misfire
Workshop: Drafting the Team's Human–Agent Operating Charter
- Redesigning one real team workflow around human specialists and two domain agents
- Completing the Agent Role Card, autonomy matrix and escalation rules
- Peer stress-testing of the completed Human–Agent Operating Charter
