Course Objective & Scope
Managers no longer coordinate human-only teams; they lead hybrid workflows where employees collaborate with LLM assistants, automated pipelines and AI agents. This course provides a practical framework for decomposing work to decide which steps require human judgement, empathy and ethical ownership, and which can be delegated to AI copilots or autonomous agents.
Through delegation simulations on their own unit's processes, participants design human-in-the-loop approval gates, verification protocols and a human-agent task allocation matrix.
Who Should Attend?
- Managers and team leads adopting AI tools and agent workflows across their teams
- Operations, product, engineering, marketing and customer experience managers
- Organisational design, HR and digital transformation leaders
- No coding background required; cases are adapted to the organisation's workflows
Key Takeaways
- Decompose business processes into sub-tasks by cognitive complexity, error cost and context needs
- Select the right execution mode across human-only, AI-augmented human and autonomous agent workflows
- Specify clear inputs, guardrails, acceptance criteria and verification checklists for agent-delegated work
- Enforce human-in-the-loop governance and outcome ownership that prevents 'the AI did it' accountability gaps
- Upskill and reposition team members toward higher-value judgement work as routine tasks shift to agents
Curriculum
The Hybrid Workforce: Human, Copilot and Autonomous Agent Spectrum
- How human-agent delegation differs from traditional people delegation
- Realistic capability boundaries of deterministic automation, copilots and multi-step agents
Task Decomposition and the Delegation Decision Matrix
- Evaluating tasks by ambiguity, context depth, reversibility and cost of error
- Classifying work across human-only, AI-augmented (centaur) and agent-first modes
Briefing Humans vs Briefing Agents: Context, Guardrails and Acceptance Criteria
- Intent and autonomy for people versus structured instructions, constraints and examples for agents
- Defining evaluation rubrics and acceptance checklists for delegated outputs
Human-in-the-Loop Governance, Quality Control and Accountability
- Designing human-in-the-loop and human-on-the-loop approval gates and escalation triggers
- Preventing automation complacency and diffused responsibility
Human-Agent Delegation Simulation and Workflow Redesign
- End-to-end human-agent task allocation on a live process from the organisation
- Reinvesting saved capacity into higher-judgement team roles and operating routines
