Course Objective & Scope

Outages, broadcast storms and misrouted traffic on enterprise networks usually stem from foundational switching and IP design mistakes. Aligned with the CCNA curriculum, this programme teaches how to build and operate enterprise LAN and WAN environments.

IPv4/IPv6 subnetting, the Cisco IOS CLI, VLAN and 802.1Q trunk setup, Rapid PVST+ and EtherChannel, static and OSPF routing, DHCP/DNS/NAT services and standard and extended ACLs are practised in topology labs. Participants build a sample branch-to-HQ network and compile a verification checklist.

Who Should Attend?

  • Specialists and engineers working in network and system administration
  • Data centre, helpdesk and field operations staff transitioning into networking
  • Technical personnel preparing for the CCNA exam or enterprise network operations
  • Prerequisite: basic computing and IT familiarity

Key Takeaways

  • Design an IPv4 (VLSM) and IPv6 addressing plan that scales with the organisation
  • Configure VLANs, trunks, Rapid Spanning Tree and EtherChannel on Cisco switches
  • Set up packet routing with static routes and single-area OSPFv2
  • Connect the network securely using NAT, DHCP, NTP and ACL rules
  • Troubleshoot L1–L4 network issues with ping, traceroute, CDP/LLDP and show/debug commands
