What can be automated?

Every department has work it does by hand every day. Pick a department; in the training you build flows like these yourself, end to end.

Department

Your choice changes the example flow below.

  1. New lead A request arrives from the form on your website
  2. Assesses (AI step) Summarizes the request and sets its sector and priority
  3. Saves to the CRM A contact and an opportunity are created
  4. Notifies The right sales rep gets a Teams message

Leads reach the right person right away, with a summary.

  1. Support email A new email arrives from a customer
  2. Classifies (AI step) Sets the topic and urgency, drafts a reply
  3. Opens a ticket A support ticket is opened for the right team
  4. Asks for approval The reply is sent once an agent approves the draft

Urgent requests come first; every reply starts from a ready draft.

  1. An invoice arrives A PDF invoice comes attached to an email
  2. Extracts the details (AI step) Supplier, amount, due date and line items are read
  3. Records Entered into the accounting sheet or the ERP
  4. Flags If something does not match, the entry goes for approval

Invoices are not typed in by hand; only the exceptions need approval.

  1. An application arrives A CV comes in from the careers page or by email
  2. Assesses the CV (AI step) Experience and skills are compared with the job posting's criteria and a short summary is written
  3. Adds to the list The candidate is added to the tracking sheet with the summary and a fit score
  4. Notifies Suitable candidates are flagged to an HR specialist, who makes the decision

Every CV is read against the same criteria; the HR specialist spends their time on the strongest candidates.

  1. Schedule Runs every Monday at 09:00
  2. Collects the data The week's figures are pulled from sheets and systems
  3. Summarizes (AI step) A short report explaining the notable changes is written
  4. Shares The report goes to management by email and Teams

The weekly report is ready without anyone working on it.

Who is it for?

For any team that wants less repetitive work. No coding knowledge is needed; the training starts at a basic level, and advanced topics can be added for technical teams.

  • Business units and process owners

Teams in sales, customer service, finance and HR who repeat the same steps by hand every day.

  • Operations and business analysts

People who map processes, decide which ones to automate, and will build and run the flows.

  • IT and digital transformation teams

Teams that will roll automation out across the organization and own permissions, security and maintenance.

  • Managers and team leads

Those who want to free their team's time from routine work and prioritize automation opportunities.

Program

Seven modules and a part tailored to your organization. Every module is hands-on; the depth of the advanced modules is set to the participants' profile.

By the end of the training, participants

  • Pick the processes of their own that suit automation
  • Build a flow that connects apps and handles errors
  • Add an AI step to a flow and check its result
  • Hand the flow over to their team safely
  1. Finding processes that suit automation

Which processes can be automated and which cannot; finding repetitive steps, turning a process into a flow and measuring the gain.

  2. Getting started with n8n

What starts a flow and how data moves step by step: the editor, triggers and nodes. A short, hands-on introduction to JSON and expressions.

  3. Connecting apps

Connecting email, calendar, spreadsheet and messaging apps: Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack and Teams. Systems without a ready-made connection are connected through their API with webhooks and HTTP Request.

Workshop A first flow from email to spreadsheet, and from spreadsheet to notification.

  4. Flow control and error handling

Conditions, loops, sub-workflows and schedules; error workflows, retries and monitoring the health of a flow.

  5. Flows with AI steps

Classifying emails, summarizing text, extracting information from documents; structured output so the result comes back in the same shape every time. Model steps connect through OpenAI, Gemini or RuneGate.

Workshop A flow that classifies support emails and routes them to the right team.

  6. AI agents

AI agents that plan a few steps on their own; human-in-the-loop approval before critical steps, so a person always has the last word. An introduction to memory and MCP.

  7. Enterprise use

Handing flows over to the team safely: users and permissions, credential and secret management, publishing versions and monitoring; on-premises installation and KVKK.

Output An automation plan for your own department.

  8. Tailored to your organization

The weight of each module and the example flows are chosen for your team's processes. On request, the training continues with a project workshop on your own processes with your team.

RuneGate for the AI steps

In the training, model steps can also be set up with OpenAI or Gemini; RuneGate is not required. If your organization uses RuneGate, n8n's OpenAI-compatible model steps connect to it by changing only the address and the key, and every AI call in your flows goes through one point.

What it means for managers: AI spend is visible and capped per team, and personal data does not reach the model.

  • Automatic model choice. With rune-auto, simple classification stays on an economical model and hard tasks go to a powerful one.
  • Team budgets. Every team's spend is visible; requests stop before the budget is exceeded.
  • Data protection. With the RuneGuard add-on, personal data is masked before it reaches the model.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is n8n?

n8n is a workflow automation tool that connects apps and automates workflows. Flows are built in a visual editor by linking steps together; it has hundreds of ready-made integrations, such as email, CRM, spreadsheet and messaging apps, as well as AI steps. Because it can be installed on an organization's own servers, it stands out for those who want their data to stay in-house.

Do we need to know how to code?

No. The training starts at a basic level and has no prerequisites. Most flows in n8n are built without writing code; now and then you work with short expressions and JSON, which you learn step by step in the training.

How long is the training?

From one day to several, depending on scope. On request, the training continues with a project workshop on your own processes with your team, which can run over several weeks. Length and scope are agreed in a call before the training and written into the quote.

Is n8n paid?

The community edition of n8n, installed on your own servers, is free. The cloud version and the editions with enterprise features such as SSO are paid. The training uses the free edition, and which edition suits your organization is also covered.

Where will we use n8n during the training?

Participants work in your organization's n8n environment or in the free edition installed on their own computers; which one to use is planned together before the training.

Is our company data used in the exercises?

The exercises in the training use sample data we prepare. If the project workshop works on your real processes, which data is used and how is decided together with your organization.

Can it connect to our own systems?

n8n has hundreds of ready-made integrations, such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, CRMs and databases. Systems without a ready-made connection, such as SAP or Logo, are connected through their API with HTTP Request; the training covers this hands-on.

How do we connect LLMs to our flows?

Model steps in n8n can connect directly to providers such as OpenAI and Gemini. In organizations that use RuneGate, the same steps connect to RuneGate by changing only the address and the key; model choice, team budgets and data protection are managed in one place.

Can it work without our data leaving the organization?

Yes. n8n can be installed on your organization's own servers. When the LLM steps in your flows are also routed to local models on RuneBox, data does not leave your network.

How is it different from the AI in Business Processes Training?

The AI in Business Processes Training teaches you to bring AI tools such as ChatGPT and Copilot into daily work. This training turns processes into flows that run on their own with n8n. The two complement each other.

Who runs the flows after the training?

The training is designed so that your team can run the flows on its own: permissions, error workflows and monitoring are covered hands-on. Installing n8n in your organization is usually planned together with your IT team; if you like, we do the installation with you through NexTech consulting.

Can we get support after the training?

Yes. In the project workshop we take the first flows live together with your team. For installing n8n in your organization and for larger automation projects, NexTech consulting is there for you.

Do you issue a certificate?

Every participant receives a RuneLab Academy certificate of attendance. On request, the training can be run together with Boğaziçi University Lifelong Learning Center and the certificate issued with BÜYEM endorsement.

Who are your trainers?

The training is delivered by experienced senior AI engineers and data scientists who run enterprise AI projects at RuneLab.
