Course Objective & Scope
AI rarely replaces a whole job title overnight; it transforms specific tasks inside a role such as data gathering, first-draft creation, summarisation and triage. Yet saving scattered 10-minute increments across the day yields zero real productivity unless tasks are re-bundled and the role itself is redesigned.
This hands-on course teaches the methodology of job deconstruction, task-level AI/agent suitability scoring and role reconstruction. Participants work on real positions from their own organisation to produce a task impact heat map and updated role design cards.
Who Should Attend?
- Organisational design, job analysis and total rewards/job evaluation specialists
- Process excellence, lean operations and workflow design managers
- HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and workforce transformation project teams
- Department managers restructuring how their teams operate with AI
Key Takeaways
- Deconstruct a job role into deliverables, sub-tasks, cognitive complexity and time allocation
- Score each sub-task across Human-Led, Human + AI Copilot, Agent + Human Approval and Full Automation tiers
- Overcome the fragmented-time trap by consolidating freed capacity and re-bundling workflows
- Enrich roles around human judgment, stakeholder empathy, quality assurance and exception handling
- Produce updated Role Redesign Cards covering task allocation, KPIs and skill requirements
Curriculum
From Job Titles to Tasks: Job Deconstruction Methodology
- Why title-level analysis fails; leveraging O*NET/ESCO taxonomies and process data
- Breaking a role down into 15–25 core tasks, time shares and input/output artefacts
- Separating routine information processing, rule-based decisions, complex judgment and human interaction
Task-Level AI and Agent Impact Scoring Matrix
- Four-tier allocation scale: Human-Only, AI Copilot, Autonomous Agent (with human sign-off), Full Automation
- How error tolerance, regulatory rules and data availability cap automation potential
- Generating the visual Task Impact Heatmap for a job family
Overcoming the Fragmented-Time Trap and Re-Engineering Workflows
- Why five scattered 10-minute savings do not translate into business capacity
- Before-and-after workflow mapping: eliminating handoffs and batching AI-assisted steps
- Reinvesting freed blocks of time into customer engagement, proactive analysis or higher volume
Role Reconstruction and Job Evaluation Implications
- Re-bundling tasks: consolidating shrinking sub-tasks and enriching the core role
- New human responsibilities: context framing, output auditing and complex exception handling
- Assessing impacts on role seniority, accountability weight and job grading
Hands-On Workshop: Redesigning Three Priority Roles
- End-to-end deconstruction of three real roles from the organisation (e.g. analyst, specialist, service rep)
- Comparing legacy vs. target time-allocation charts and daily workflows
- Presenting and validating completed Role Redesign Cards
