Course Objective & Scope
Traditional end-to-end (E2E) UI test suites are slow to author and notoriously brittle whenever DOM structures change. This course teaches QA and engineering teams how to use browser-driving agents and Playwright MCP to both generate resilient Playwright test code and run autonomous exploratory QA sessions.
Driving live browsers via Playwright MCP and accessibility-tree (ARIA) snapshots, converting natural-language user journeys into clean Page Object / Playwright scripts, distinguishing genuine regressions from benign locator changes in self-healing workflows, and running autonomous exploratory bug hunts are practised hands-on.
Who Should Attend?
- QA automation engineers and SDETs
- Frontend and full-stack developers responsible for E2E test suites
- QA leads and test architects
- Prerequisite: familiarity with web applications and E2E frameworks (Playwright, Cypress or Selenium)
Key Takeaways
- Use Playwright MCP so agents inspect live ARIA/DOM trees and generate verified E2E tests
- Enforce resilient role- and accessibility-based locators (
getByRole, getByLabel) over brittle CSS/XPath - Design guarded self-healing flows that separate benign UI renames from real product regressions
- Run autonomous exploratory QA agents to uncover console errors, broken flows and edge-case bugs
- Compile slow agentic browser explorations into fast, deterministic Playwright scripts for CI
Curriculum
Agentic QA Architecture: Agents for Discovery, Code for CI
- Why running live LLM steps on every CI run is slow: using agents to author and maintain deterministic scripts
- Playwright MCP, ARIA accessibility snapshots and multimodal visual inspection
Generating Resilient Playwright Tests from User Journeys
- Having the agent navigate the live app to emit verified Page Objects and Playwright specs
- Handling auth state (
storageState), test data seeding and network/API assertions
Flaky Test Diagnosis and Guarded Self-Healing
- Analysing Playwright traces, screenshots and DOM diffs to separate timing bugs from locator changes
- Spec-checked locator repair PRs that never silently mask genuine functional regressions
Autonomous Exploratory QA and Visual Checks
- Goal-driven persona agents that probe new features for unhandled edge cases
- Automatically surfacing 4xx/5xx network failures, console exceptions, layout breaks and a11y issues
Running QA Agents Against PR Preview Environments
- Mapping PR diffs to affected routes and triggering targeted E2E verification
- Posting trace- and video-backed QA verification summaries directly onto pull requests
